During his 26 years in the fire service, Bobby

Franklin established himself as a
leader, earning the
respect of others within the fire service as well as
throughout
communities in Schuyler County,
surrounding counties, and beyond.

After more than 13 years of fully dedicating his time
and energy as Chief, his name became synonymous with

the Odessa Fire Department.

He has selflessly served our community with honesty,
integrity and pride.

On June 19, 2008, at the age of 44, Bobby and his
family were dealt a devastating blow when he was
diagnosed with stage
4 colorectal cancer and he has
been undergoing chemotherapy since that time.

Due to a back injury and subsequent surgery, Bobby has
been unable to work since July of 2007.

With injury-related changes coming to his and Rebecca's
financial situation, the time has
come to repay our debt of
gratitude to an incredible person who has so freely given

of himself.
